Porthcawl
The seaside town of Porthcawl has lots to offer in terms of sport,
relaxation, entertainment and fresh air. It’s within easy reach of M4 Jct

and a half from Birmingham, an hour from Bristol. The Brecon Beacons and
the Gower Peninsula are each just an hour away.

The town itself boasts lovely beaches, whether you want traditional
bucket and spade or something a little bit more adventurous. The surfing
at Rest Bay is UK renowned for its reef breaks, and point breaks as well
as beach breaks. Then there is golf, with the internationally
acclaimed golf course, the Royal Porthcawl. Cyclists, too, can enjoy the
cycle networks as well as some scenic routes and lovely winding country
lanes. The shops are small, friendly and individual. Pubs and
restaurants offer good, reasonably priced, food and a hearty Welsh
welcome.
There is an indoor cinema and soft play area at the Trecco Bay Caravan
Park. Culture, too, has its place with the Silurian Art Gallery, a small
museum, and a range of entertainment at the Grand Pavilion.
The Tourist Information Centre in the town centre will give you
background to the area and point you in whatever you feel is the right
direction!
